Privacy Policy
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising. We never store the videos you import — only the recipe text, a cover picture and a link to the original.
Overview
This policy explains what data Mise collects, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Mise is one of the FAMHQ apps (Lookboard, Roam, BookStash, Keyring). They share one account: you sign in to each of them with the same email address, and your name and profile photo are the same in all of them. Anyone can sign up and use Mise for free, with limits; accounts we invite get full access without them.
To apply those limits and keep our costs in check, we count per account and per day how often you use the parts that cost us money: sign-in emails, file uploads, AI features, maps and the book page reader. These counts are numbers only. For emails we count a one-way hash of the address, not the address. Counts are deleted after 90 days.
You sign in with a 6-digit one-time code we email to you. There are no passwords. Each app keeps its own data; deleting your account in Mise deletes only your Mise data (see Data retention).
Data we collect
- Account — email address; optional name and profile photo (shared across the FAMHQ apps).
- Recipes — the recipes you add or import: title, ingredients with amounts and estimated nutrition, steps, timers, tags, collections, your personal notes and your cooking history with ratings.
- Imports — the links, text and cookbook photos you send to be turned into a recipe, and the text extracted from them (a page's recipe markup, a video's description and speech transcript, the text of a photographed page), kept with the recipe so it can be re-read with a better parser later. Cookbook photos are deleted once the recipe is made.
- Photos — dish photos you add and cover pictures taken from the imported page or video.
- Family and friends — the email addresses you invite and the people you are connected with. They see only the recipes you mark as shared.
- Push notification token — to tell you when an import is ready and when a cooking timer ends.
Imports from other sites and videos
When you share a link, our server fetches the page, or downloads the video temporarily to read its description, speech and on-screen text. The video and its sound are deleted as soon as the recipe is made; we keep the recipe text, a cover picture, the author's name and a link back to the original.
AI features
With full access, imports of videos, photos, plain text and pages without recipe markup, translation into Ukrainian and nutrition estimates are processed by Cloudflare Workers AI: we send it the text, sound or images of that import only, and Cloudflare processes them only to return the result. We count your AI requests to enforce a daily limit. AI output can be wrong; check amounts before cooking.
How we use your data
- To store, sync and display your recipe book across your devices.
- To show the recipes you share to the family and friends you connected with.
- To scale amounts, convert units and add up nutrition.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling or any purpose beyond operating the app.
Service providers
- Railway — hosts our application server.
- Supabase — hosts our database (PostgreSQL).
- Cloudflare R2 — stores the files and images you upload, and daily database backups.
- Resend — delivers sign-in and confirmation codes to your email address.
- Cloudflare Workers AI — the AI features above.
- Expo (with Apple Push Notification service) — delivers push notifications. Receives your device's push token and the notification text.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept for as long as your Mise account exists. You can delete it at any time: open Profile, tap "Delete account" and enter the code we email you. This permanently removes your recipes, collections, cooking history, imports and connections from our servers immediately. Your FAMHQ account itself (email address and name) is removed when no FAMHQ app uses it any more.
Database backups are kept for 30 days, so deleted data disappears from backups within 30 days. If you no longer have the app, email julianomg8@gmail.com from the address you signed in with and we will delete your account for you.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Files are stored privately and are reachable only through time-limited signed links. Sign-in uses one-time codes; we do not store passwords or payment information.
Children
Mise is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You may request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us or using the in-app deletion.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
